Meet our therapists

I am a licensed professional counselor and have worked in the mental health field for the past 16 years. I specialize in trauma informed care and intense couples work and use a collaborative yet eclectic approach in order to fit the needs of each unique individual or couple. I also treat religious trauma, ADHD, depression, anxiety and mood disorders. I am certified in EMDR and hypnotherapy and use several modalities to treat clients.

I offer individual and couples sessions. I treat trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, other mood and personality disorders, substance abuse and general counseling. I facilitate group trauma therapy sessions including guided meditation.

If you struggle to find peace in this ever growing society, I can help navigate difficulties and begin to build a strong foundation. Often, trauma can exacerbate these life stressors. Together, we will work together to create goals and identify your needs.

Susan Ratliff, LPC-S

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Athens University in Behavioral Science, and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from A&M University. I have been in practice in North Alabama for the past 25 years, with experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings. I have served a variety of populations, and have led individual, group, marital, and family therapy sessions. My main passion in work is to improve individuals, and families lives by assisting in their development.

I am also able to supervise clinicians seeking supervised work experience to obtain licensure. I can provide first-hand experience with a primary focus on continuing education in working with a diverse spectrum of populations and conditions.

My greatest strength in this field is my unending love of learning about the human condition and how our experiences affect our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I have a passion for helping others and believes that all people can find their strengths and thrive. My vibe is open, inclusive, honest, and relaxed.

Nissa Floyd, ALC

Under the supervision of Susan Ratliff, LPC-S

I am an Associate Licensed Counselor with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology/Social Work from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Arts degree from Liberty University. I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, and university students in both individual and group therapeutic settings.

My approach is person-centered, integrative, and collaborative, incorporating CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based skills to support each client’s unique needs and goals. I enjoy supporting clients in navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, self-esteem, and trauma-related experiences. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Outside of counseling, I am naturally curious and have a genuine love of learning, traveling, and exploring new experiences. Aviation has been a passion of mine for many years and fuels my sense of adventure which inspires me to embrace new perspectives. I enjoy spending time outdoors skiing, hiking, and more recently learning new gardening techniques. My curiosity and openness to exploration are qualities I carry into my work as a counselor, allowing me to connect with others authentically, remain open to their experiences, and appreciate the unique stories each person brings.
